Overlooking the Everyday - Plymouth, MI Newborn & Infant Photography

Sometimes when I am taking photos I get focused on certain poses and settings. I am so grateful to this little cutie's mommy for suggesting a photo with the baby's mobile. How cute did this turn out?!

Little Details - Plymouth, MI Newborn & Infant Photography

I am so lucky to have my daughters. Sometimes my life gets a bit busy... time ends up slipping away and the next thing you know my newborn is starting to laugh. I think the reason I enjoy photography so much is that I can capture the little moments and freeze time. Then when I get a chance to look through all of my photographs I can have my babies again. I can have the small fingers, the tiny toes and of course the gorgeous eyelashes!

Prettiest Pout- Plymouth, MI Children's Photography

Okay... I give up. I now know my daughter has all the control. I pull out my camera and away she turns. I have amazing shots of her profile and I am okay with that - seriously I am. Every once in a great while though I get the rare opportunity of her looking directly into the camera, and I LOVE it! Even without a smile my darling has the prettiest pout! In this particular setting though I did eventually manage to get a smile from her. I love you babe and thank you for putting up with your crazy camera loving mommy!!

Summertime

Happy Summer from B :)

This was a lot more work than I thought it would be :) Poor B had to have a long bath after this photo was snapped. I just love this look though!

Another few photos from my vacation... These are of my brother and sister in law. It's hard to believe that they were only 10 years old when I met them!

Cousins...

My nephew was born about 10 weeks before my little B. I always find it funny how a few weeks can make such a big difference with babies. They finally catch up at about a year, but in these early months he is her big cousin! Don't they look alike in the eyes :)

Canton Senior Pictures

Loving Michigan. Loving the lakes and beautiful sunsets!

Senior pictures are always a good time! I have yet to not have a blast with my seniors! Even though we don't have these beaches in Canton, Michigan we can wish or travel and find one :)

Here are a few of my beautiful sister-in-law!

Alyssa Part 2

Okay, so we all know I am not such a big sports girl...okay I hate it- I hate chasing, kicking and running after balls. I don't mind going to games as long as I can talk with my friends and don't be surprised if I don't know who won. I think you see what I am saying. I'm just am not a sports person. So, when I was doing Alyssa's senior pics I was having a hard time with these sports shots- okay I'll admit it, they sucked. I just could not get over the "sports" in my brain. Everytime I looked at them I was thinking- oh this is soo cliche! So, anyways when she came over for her composite portrait I retook a few of the "sports" ones. I cleared my mind of thinking as "sports" shots and got back to how to capture her. Here are a few from this 2nd session :) Eventually I WILL master senior photos :)

Eric and Gena are Married!

You may remember Eric and Gena from their fun engagement session back in May. Gena and Eric live in Chicago, but Eric's family is from Michigan. Gena looked gorgeous in her gown and Eric looked very handsome. The wedding was a blast and all of their friends and family were having a ton of fun!

So, the worst possible thing that could happen to me did happen, but thankfully it happened at the end of the evening. My Canon 5D broke! GASP! I know, it was terrible and I thought I was going to pass out! Thankfully I had a back up camera, had a 2nd shooter AND it happened after the cake cutting and toasts! What happened you ask? Well, the mirror fell off! I was just snapping a photo of an adorable baby and all of a sudden I see darkness, my heart sank and I felt faint. I opened up the shutter and "flop" my mirror slides out! I closed my eyes, counted to ten and then I grabbed my trusty 2nd camera and continued on my way.

Good news came that night when I got home to research what happened. Apparently this is a common problem for my model and Canon repaired it for free and it is now back into my hands and better than new. Hallelujah! Or as Marc would say "Yea God!"

Here are a few photos from the evening.
