Little A _ Plymouth, Michigan Urban Children's Photography

Recently my brother and sister in laws moved less than 3 blocks away. It has been awesome to be able to see my little nephew so much more! I enjoy watching him grow and love to see him and my little girls interact. He is such a little tough guy with so much love and smiles to give! We love ya little A :)

I Heart Faces: Holiday Traditions

This is the first time we have ever heard of this cool new site call I Heart Faces. I thought I would submit a few photos of our holiday tradition. I hadn't really got my camera out, but when we put up the tree this year I grabbed a few photos of my girls during the decorating.

This one little branch is supporting over 6 little Christmas ornaments my daughter placed on it for the first time :)

Love this because it shows my daughter just how she is in this stage of her life...sans clothing...

After her PJS were on we were able to get one shot :)

This is a special photo as the little golden star is now shattered into bits...bottom branch :)

Scratching little sister's head with a glass candy cane...am I a horrible mom that I took a photo instead of taking it out of her hands?

The one of Bree. Now you know these were unplanned photos- she has food all over her face...just like everyday!

My little B - Plymouth, Michigan Baby Photography

My little B i 6 months old and soon to be 7months. She is at the perfect age and I know that my days of her sitting and smiling for me are limited and so I am taking full advantage of having my little model while I can. She is such a beautiful baby. She has such a photogenic quality about her. She has the big chubby cheeks, big blue eyes and dark dark crazy hair. Here are a few of the hundreds of photos I have of her in one of my many hats (that's another story altogether)

D and girls family session Sneak Peak - Ann Arbor Area Family Photographer

Here is a sneak peak from Sunday's session. There were so many amazing photos that it was hard just to choose a few! Three beautiful girls, one amazing horse and one beautiful location equals an amazing session! D I hope you and your girls love this sample, your album will be ready soon!

Baby B - Plymouth, Michigan Urban Newborn Photography

This is an older post, but I just realized that I posted about the canvases on this baby's wall, but didn't post about his session!  This baby was awesome to photograph.  He may have actually been the easiest baby to work with at 4 weeks young!  I usually require the baby to be 2 weeks old or younger, but his mom insistent that he still slept the majority of the day.  I was really hesitant, but took her word and I am so glad I did.  He slept pretty much the ENTIRE session just like a newborn.  We were able to try out some new poses and had a good time creating some wall art for their home.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Baby M Sneak Peak - Plymouth area baby photographer

Sunday I got to spend an afternoon with one of my favorite clients!  Baby M is the same age as my little B and I so enjoy watching her grow and reach milestones with her!  They remind me of each other in alot of ways and I think it is the chubby cheeks and the cute little smirks!

Canvas and wall art - Plymouth, MI Newborn & Infant Photography

I am absolutely flattered when clients put images of their loved one I took on their walls at home. I feel like a TRUE artist and I cannot even describe how proud I feel! One of my clients just sent me a photo of 3 canvases that are now displayed on her wall! Love it!  I took the photos on the wall not the photo of the wall!

What to wear?!

One of the buiggest questions I get with my photo shoots is "What should we wear?!" I am not a fashion guru and sometimes I need total help with my own style; however, when it comes to my photo shoots I know exactly what looks good and what doesn't. I really dislike matchy outfits and even though I often dress my two girls alike (something I SWORE I would never do) I recommend for you NOT to have matching outfits for a shoot. What I do recommend is selecting a few colors and make them work. Start with a base as in the below photo (the base is white and navy) and then go from there. Pull in brown for shoes and pull in red for sweaters under coats, scarves, etc) You can do this with any set of colors, just compliment the outfits. Here is a wardrobe I just suggested for my clients.
