I Heart Faces - Bundled Up
Another I Heart Faces competition!
This is the sweetest photo of my daughter when we went up north to Boyne, Michigan this past January. I bundled her up and then HAD to get a photo of her in this suit! She is just too cute!

Little Baby E - Plymouth, MI newborn and infant photography
Oh how I love babies! Everytime I have a baby session I come home so excited to cuddle my little baby.
Now this baby was 6 weeks old. This is a very tricky age and normally I tell moms to book their "newborn" sessions within the first 2 weeks of life. Why is that? Well if you don't do it within that small time frame then you will not get sleeping baby photos. Now the following photos are very beautiful, BUT it is between stages. No sleepy baby and only a few smiles. Now, if you are given an opportunity to get photos as a gift (thanks Kayla for this session for her!) take it, but if you are investing I would wait until they can smile on command or sit on their own :)

The S Family - Plymouth, Michigan Children & Family Photography
What do you say when you find out your friend has cancer? What words can you possibly say that would offer any comfort? Do you tell them you are sorry? Sorry for what? Sorry that she has to go though this, sorry she is so young, sorry that this will be a long road, sorry you can't take it away, sorry her son has to watch his mom get sick, sorry we have no cure other than the toxic drugs that will make her even more sick and lose her beautiful hair, sorry that you have nothing else you can say?
Kristy is an amazing person. I met her 2 and a half years ago when I joined the Plymouth Playgroup. She was always such a welcoming person and wanted to make life better for other moms. She got sick in January and we all received an e-mail that she had gone through an emergency abdominal surgery. Weird, I thought, what a fluke thing to happen. Then we got the second e-mail. This next one explained that when she left the hospital they had told her something that would change her life. They told her she had Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin large B cell lymphoma. They told that her they would be treating her with Chemo. I cannot imagine the blow that must have been. I cannot imagine explaining cancer to my 3 year old as she will have to explain to hers.
I saw Kristy at a playdate the other day and we were talking about the photos I took of her and her son the previous summer, and how she wanted to get that family session in, but it looked like she was going to be bald soon. Bald soon... I can't imagine losing my hair. I can't imagine having cancer either, but losing my hair too?! We chatted a bit and decided to do her family session this week. It was a little last minute, but isn't that how life is?!

Baby M is 10 Months! - Plymouth, MI Baby & Children Photography
I just love photographing babies who don't crawl away from me! There is a really small amount of time between when babies learn to sit and learn to crawl. That time is my most favorite time other than newborns to photograph!
I have followed Baby M since she was in mommy's belly and it is always so fun to see how she has grown! It is so fun to see their little personalities develop and each milestone reached.
As you can see she is a very easy baby to photograph as she is so photogenic with those big brown eyes and chubby cheeks- it was so hard to pick only a few to show as I took so many!
The best part if this session is when we stuck her in the sink! I wasn't sure if it would work and then when she kept turning the water on herself I thought for sure none of the photos would turn out- she proved me wrong :)
