Welcome to the World Baby {K} | Newborn Photographer - Plymouth, Michigan
I am so behind on my blog posts!
I think I will start my updates with a newborn session from Saline, Michigan! Everyone who knows me knows I LOVE newborn photography. Baby K's mom contacted me just as her daughter approached the 2 week mark... I suggest to ALL moms that we take the photos within the first two weeks. the first 10 days would be preferred :)
Baby K took a little longer than usually to fall asleep. I was a little worried as the sun was starting to set. I actually was thinking we would have to scrap having sleeping photos at all :( Within the last 15 minutes before the sun set (seriously- it was getting LATE!) She fell asleep!! I was SO relieved, because I knew how much her mom wanted the sleepy baby photos! In the end all the work and waiting was worth it! Enjoy :P Remember mom-to-be's contact me when you are still pregnant!

Ann Arbor, Michigan Family Photographer | The Apple Orchard
It's that time of year again! Apple orchards, apple cider, apple picking, cinnamon donuts and pumpkins! It has been unseasonably warm the past few days so Saturday when we rounded up our family for the apple orchard we didn't suspect it woudl be so cold! Thank goodness I brought jackets for the girls, but unfortunately Ryan wore his infamous sandals. The girls had a blast, but poor B is starting her fall time cold! It has to be tradition now, as last year at the apple orchards she had a cold as well. Poor baby.
We decided this tiome to try out the corn maze. We assumed it was for children and would take a few minutes. Well, guess what happens when you assume?! The attendant gave us these little cards that showed the things we were suppose to find in the corn maze. The trick was that only 5 of the 10 images were in the maze. If you got all 5 you got a free donut and cider. Well...for those of you who know my husband and the word "free" will understand that now this was a mission we MUST complete. Two hours, two crabby toddlers and two hungry adults later we finally found the exit and had the two completed charts in hand and headed off to get our cider and donuts. We reach the desk to find out that Audrey lost her chart. So we retraced our steps all the way back to the apple orchard to no avail. Finally we ordered our 1 free donut and 1 free cider and then we got an additional half gallon (to add to our gallon in the fridge) and a dozen donuts. We all chowed down the donuts like we haven't eaten in years (or like we hadn't had cider and donuts just on Tuesday!) We all in all had a fun time and on the way home B fell fast asleep, Audrey chatted the entire way and Ryan realized he was getting sick too!
Well...we still had fun :)

Plymouth, MI child photographer | Sleeping Beauty
It's not often I can capture a moment like this! With my 3 year old who no longer naps (stopped conveniently after her baby sister was born!) Daddy wass out at game night and I had the girls. It was not even 8pm and she fell asleep next to me on the couch! I snuck downstairs and grabbed my camera and capture my first sleeping beauty! I really wish I had newborn photos taken of her professionally when she was REALLY small and was asleep! We waited until she was 4 weeks and ven though I treasure those photos I wish so hard I had a sleeping baby pictures. Is it weird that when I look at the newborn photos I think "I wonder if that would pass as my baby A and get it on canvas and display it!?" Haha, I am kidding I won't do that, but I so wish I had photos similar to the ones my clients are given!
But a sleeping 3 year old? Still looks pretty precious to me!

Northville, Michigan Baby Photographer | Meet blue eyed Baby {A}
Okay so Baby {A} (lots of baby A's!) lives in India and her mom came to the states with her for a few months to visit. Her Sister-in-law e-mailed me saying that she wanted her to have her photos taken while she was back. Man, they had a BUSY schedule and trying to pick a date was really hard, but we made it work! I usually tell clients that if they are having professional photographs to do the newborn and 7 month ages and they could pass the 3 month as the babies are not really sitting or doing much, BUT after this session I think I ave a new favorite age! I will no longer say that 3 months is hard! We got some amazing smiles and her eyes were so blue and reflective that the camera just LOVED them! This 3month baby sssion was taken at Mill Race Run in Northville. I's usually packed with photographers so I try not to shoot there, but they turned out really nice so I am glad we did! Two things I usually avoid turned into two things that made this session amazing and proving me wrong!

Family photographer Birmingham, MI | The {H} Family in Birmingham
I met the {H} family out in Birmingham for their family portraits. It was a beautiful evening and the weather had let up and was not so crazy hot as it has been! I am still really wanting to do a family session in downtown, but the parks there are so pretty!
This session was fun and the 5 year old was such a great little subject! He just did what I asked and didn't get tired of me! Their adorable daughter did give me a challenge! We were working close to her bedtime so she wasn't super pleased about me telling her what to do ;) She was a doll and perfect for the first family photos and then she decided she gave me enough to work with so she had her mom, dad, brother and me standing on our heads to make her laugh! We did get some great ones of her thanks to some bribery.
Their family was not only incredibly good looking but so laid back and fun! I hope to work with them again next year :)

Michigan Baby Photographer | Baby C is 5 Months!
Remember little baby C from 5 months ago? We met up tonight to do his 5 month session. Today we had a heatwave hitting 90 degrees and humidity of 75%...then these huge storm clouds moved in and I thought we were going to be rained out. Much to my ten minute worry the air cooled down and the clouds left us with some amazing warm sunshine. We got a few shots and then baby Cam got fussy and we wondered why until he just fell asleep in his mommy's arms. It was so precious! SO now that we had a sleepy baby I took a few more photos while he slept! They turned out pretty awesome!
I couldn't believe it had been 5 months! I cannot believe how fast summer went! Goodbye summer with my last summer session!
