Northville, Michigan Baby and Family Photographer | Baby {A} turns 1
Baby A turned 1 and she is walking and ready to run! She is such a cute little girl and we tried to trick her into staying in one location. She wasn't to excited about not being free!
The weather in Michigan is getting colder so we did this session indoors. It is always an option in these winter months coming up!

Sometimes my clients want variety...I aim to please :)
I had a blast with this family- and since they are MY family it was fun to ask them to do crazy things! Rock Band anyone?

Plymouth, Michigan Children's and Family Photographer | The day with the {K} Family
My nephew is such a cutie!!
I love doing session with my family, because I can bring my family along with me and I can suggest crazy places! This was not trespassing though, I did get verbal permission :)
Family sessions are almost my favorite sessions (newborns are still the top) to do, but when I can really get the family to go out and try someplace unique and trust me I can really get some amazing images! We did get a few photos that my daughter photo bombed.
I have been photographing this little guy since he was born! He was my first newborn ever!

Plymouth, Michigan Children's and Family Photographer | The day with the {N} Family
Sooo I totally thought that once your child has more logic than my 3 year old photos become easy. I don't do a ton of children over 4 so I really didn't know...until this session! Haha! I actually never laughed more during a session! I had to try a whole new bag of trick for the older kids! Silly sounds and faces were not working so much for them. I was finally able to get them to relax and have fun without them realizing that I was "tricking" them into "real" smiles!
I had a blast with them and I can't wait till my kids reach this age!

Family and child photographer West Bloomfield & Plymouth, Michigan | The {M} Family |
I think I mentioned before that I get some of the most beautiful clients in Michigan right? Here is another beautiful family session!
This session was perfect! The light was beautiful, the family was beautiful and the location was beautiful! I was so relaxed, because even though having family photos taken can be stressful for parents these guys were laid back and had faith that I would get the job done! It made our time together go by so smooth! I cannot wait to work with this family again!
I had such a fun time running around with their 1 year old and 4 year old! I felt like I was running with my kids and they fell for the SAME trick my kids do, although we gave them the cheerios a bit too soon and they made it into a few photos! Whoops!
If you need to see more of my photography or family photography please check out My Facebook Page! I am aiming for 500 fans ;)

Ann Arbor, Michigan Senior Photography | Senior Session with {B}
I haven't done a ton of seniors this year. Only 3 actually. I enjoy doing senior photography, but I get so much word of mouth from families and newborns that I don't have much time to focus on seniors! When I do have a senior- we go all out and have a blast! I love it when my subject takes direction. I don't have to make silly noises, put leaves on my head, say "peek-a-boo," or any of my other actions that are required with babies and children.
I actually enjoyed not being super silly and we were able to capture some sophisticated shots!

I love my friends. I love my friends' kids! I think the best thing about being a photographer is being able to take photos when I want to and being able to capture my favorite people as I see them. Not only do I like having photos of my own family- I enjoy having photos of my friends' family!

Plymouth, Michigan Children's and Family Photographer | The day with the {A} Family
I think I seriously have some of the best looking clients in the state of Michigan! There are too many photos of this family to choose from so I am just choosing one of my favorites :) Not only was the little boy adorable, his parents were so perfect! They found me thru their photographer friend in Grand Rapids! What a compliment that was for me! Another photographer looked for some photographers in their area and suggested me! It was such a compliment!

My Family
A few weeks ago we decided to have our family portraits taken. It was our 5 year anniversary so who BETTER to capture us than our wedding photographers?!
I was super geeked! I love their wok- it's modern, edgy and studio. It's totally not my style, but I LOVE that it is not the way I shoot. I don't have a studio, but I love the modern feel of their studio! If I were to ever do studio I would love to have set ups like them!
I was stressed out about our photos, we showed up about 2 minutes early to the WRONG studio! I was even more stressed when I realized their "newer" studio (as in 5 years ago newer) was 20 minutes away. I was stressed, the sun was setting and I just felt PANIC.
We get there and Jessica and Nate were awesome. Nate was so chill and relaxed and balanced my freaked out side. OF course my daughters didn't want to smile. They acted up. Audrey danced dances I have never seen her dance. I.WAS.TOTALLY.EMBARRASSED! SHe would not listen, she would not sit still, she was doing her own thing!
Moms- I KNOW what you are going thru when you come to me- I have been there and guess what? They did their job and captured our family and one of my favorite images is that of my daughters knocking each other other. Such is life. We are not perfect and our photos reflect our crazy family. How we are right now...crazy ;)
Actually the ones they blogged we look so composed...it's amazing ;)

We all know how Michigan weather is crazy right? Well, thank goodness my clients understood that I try not to cancel until the hour before the session. We met just after a small cloud burst and the rain stayed at bay until the end of our session! Michigan weather is crazy and this happens all the time!
I am so glad we didn't reschedule! We had an awesome time and captured some great images for them!
Isn't this little girl such a doll?!

Welcome to the World Baby {K} | Newborn Photographer - Plymouth, Michigan
I am so behind on my blog posts!
I think I will start my updates with a newborn session from Saline, Michigan! Everyone who knows me knows I LOVE newborn photography. Baby K's mom contacted me just as her daughter approached the 2 week mark... I suggest to ALL moms that we take the photos within the first two weeks. the first 10 days would be preferred :)
Baby K took a little longer than usually to fall asleep. I was a little worried as the sun was starting to set. I actually was thinking we would have to scrap having sleeping photos at all :( Within the last 15 minutes before the sun set (seriously- it was getting LATE!) She fell asleep!! I was SO relieved, because I knew how much her mom wanted the sleepy baby photos! In the end all the work and waiting was worth it! Enjoy :P Remember mom-to-be's contact me when you are still pregnant!

Ann Arbor, Michigan Family Photographer | The Apple Orchard
It's that time of year again! Apple orchards, apple cider, apple picking, cinnamon donuts and pumpkins! It has been unseasonably warm the past few days so Saturday when we rounded up our family for the apple orchard we didn't suspect it woudl be so cold! Thank goodness I brought jackets for the girls, but unfortunately Ryan wore his infamous sandals. The girls had a blast, but poor B is starting her fall time cold! It has to be tradition now, as last year at the apple orchards she had a cold as well. Poor baby.
We decided this tiome to try out the corn maze. We assumed it was for children and would take a few minutes. Well, guess what happens when you assume?! The attendant gave us these little cards that showed the things we were suppose to find in the corn maze. The trick was that only 5 of the 10 images were in the maze. If you got all 5 you got a free donut and cider. Well...for those of you who know my husband and the word "free" will understand that now this was a mission we MUST complete. Two hours, two crabby toddlers and two hungry adults later we finally found the exit and had the two completed charts in hand and headed off to get our cider and donuts. We reach the desk to find out that Audrey lost her chart. So we retraced our steps all the way back to the apple orchard to no avail. Finally we ordered our 1 free donut and 1 free cider and then we got an additional half gallon (to add to our gallon in the fridge) and a dozen donuts. We all chowed down the donuts like we haven't eaten in years (or like we hadn't had cider and donuts just on Tuesday!) We all in all had a fun time and on the way home B fell fast asleep, Audrey chatted the entire way and Ryan realized he was getting sick too!
Well...we still had fun :)

Plymouth, MI child photographer | Sleeping Beauty
It's not often I can capture a moment like this! With my 3 year old who no longer naps (stopped conveniently after her baby sister was born!) Daddy wass out at game night and I had the girls. It was not even 8pm and she fell asleep next to me on the couch! I snuck downstairs and grabbed my camera and capture my first sleeping beauty! I really wish I had newborn photos taken of her professionally when she was REALLY small and was asleep! We waited until she was 4 weeks and ven though I treasure those photos I wish so hard I had a sleeping baby pictures. Is it weird that when I look at the newborn photos I think "I wonder if that would pass as my baby A and get it on canvas and display it!?" Haha, I am kidding I won't do that, but I so wish I had photos similar to the ones my clients are given!
But a sleeping 3 year old? Still looks pretty precious to me!

Northville, Michigan Baby Photographer | Meet blue eyed Baby {A}
Okay so Baby {A} (lots of baby A's!) lives in India and her mom came to the states with her for a few months to visit. Her Sister-in-law e-mailed me saying that she wanted her to have her photos taken while she was back. Man, they had a BUSY schedule and trying to pick a date was really hard, but we made it work! I usually tell clients that if they are having professional photographs to do the newborn and 7 month ages and they could pass the 3 month as the babies are not really sitting or doing much, BUT after this session I think I ave a new favorite age! I will no longer say that 3 months is hard! We got some amazing smiles and her eyes were so blue and reflective that the camera just LOVED them! This 3month baby sssion was taken at Mill Race Run in Northville. I's usually packed with photographers so I try not to shoot there, but they turned out really nice so I am glad we did! Two things I usually avoid turned into two things that made this session amazing and proving me wrong!

Family photographer Birmingham, MI | The {H} Family in Birmingham
I met the {H} family out in Birmingham for their family portraits. It was a beautiful evening and the weather had let up and was not so crazy hot as it has been! I am still really wanting to do a family session in downtown, but the parks there are so pretty!
This session was fun and the 5 year old was such a great little subject! He just did what I asked and didn't get tired of me! Their adorable daughter did give me a challenge! We were working close to her bedtime so she wasn't super pleased about me telling her what to do ;) She was a doll and perfect for the first family photos and then she decided she gave me enough to work with so she had her mom, dad, brother and me standing on our heads to make her laugh! We did get some great ones of her thanks to some bribery.
Their family was not only incredibly good looking but so laid back and fun! I hope to work with them again next year :)

Michigan Baby Photographer | Baby C is 5 Months!
Remember little baby C from 5 months ago? We met up tonight to do his 5 month session. Today we had a heatwave hitting 90 degrees and humidity of 75%...then these huge storm clouds moved in and I thought we were going to be rained out. Much to my ten minute worry the air cooled down and the clouds left us with some amazing warm sunshine. We got a few shots and then baby Cam got fussy and we wondered why until he just fell asleep in his mommy's arms. It was so precious! SO now that we had a sleepy baby I took a few more photos while he slept! They turned out pretty awesome!
I couldn't believe it had been 5 months! I cannot believe how fast summer went! Goodbye summer with my last summer session!

Sometimes being a photographer is a good thing for my family...I mean seriously if I wasn't a photographer there is no way I would have taken my kids out at 8 at night to a sunflower patch. They would be in their beds sleeping and missing out on some fun!

Ann Arbor, MIchigan Baby and Child Photographer | The Petting Farm
My sister-in-law and I took the kids to the petting farm the other day. The weather was PERFECT! I decided to take my camera along to capture some fun moments that I usually just get with my camera phone. I was nervous...I never have taken my camera out with both girls solo...I mean out out where I left my camera bag in the car. I just decided I really want petting farm photos and I am going to just have to do it! I guess people don't understand why I don't bring it everywhere, so let me explain...my camera weighs almost 2 pounds and my lens weighs about 1 pound and then if I bring a 2nd len (which I always do) that is another pound to carry. I always joke that it's my 3rd baby - I just have to change batteries and feed it memory cards ;) Not only is it heavy- it's big and with my two crazy kids someone is getting bumped with the lens at least once. I also have to worry about where it is at all times and with a 1 year old and 3 year old I have other matters on my mind! Also- it was mid day. The dreaded shooting in FULL sun...not a time photographers choose to shoot. You know what though- I really got experience in full sun and I had fun doing it. I really enjoy capturing the "craziness" of life and I love these vivid colors and sharpness. So my lesson learned this day was that I am going to test myself more often and push myself, because when I do I get results like these:

Ann Arbor, Michigan Baby & Family Photographer | The Adorable {B} Family
A sneak peak at The {B} family and beautiful baby girl A! I met Tony years ago as he is my good friend Laura's oldest brother (she has 4 brothers!) Then I met Danielle at Laura'a baby's baptism. We connected on Facebook (gotta love Facebook) as she has a little girl about my youngest daughter's age who is also extremely beautiful! She asked to do her daughter's "just a little past 1 year photos" and I was thrilled! Her daughter is beautiful, her husband is good looking and she is gorgeous! A beautiful family! This job would be EASY!
We were threatened by a monsoon storm earlier in the day and it almost made us reschedule our shoot! You have to love Michigan weather right?!
I headed out their direction to what I thought was Brighton, but could have been Howell and we did her family session in record time...even with PROPS! We had to work fast with a getting-the-sleepy-glaze-in-her-eyes-baby and the setting sun.
Enjoy the sneak peak!

Newborn Photographer - Plymouth, Michigan | Welcome to the World Baby {H}
I was so lucky to photograph a friend of mine's newborn girl! We have been talking about doing a newborn session I think since she saw my 1st newborn session ;) I will say that it was hard to concentrate on the baby when her older sister is one of the cutest toddlers I have ever met, but I stayed focused and made sure the newborn was the star of her first session :)
I think every session I leave I feel awesome! I love being with new parents after a having a new baby. there is a certain joy that radiates in the home that cannot be described in words. I come home and I am just happy...

Family and child photographer Dearborn & Plymouth, Michigan | The {G} Family |
So, I have never done a session with 4 kiddos before this session. Jennifer e-mailed me with her ages of her kids...5 (okay 5 years olds rock), 3 (okay I have a 3 year year old..) and 15 month old (I have a 15 month old- easy!) twins (wow...)
I have only one 15 month old and one 3 year old I have great respect and admiration for this mom and dad!
We met at Henry Ford Estate and apparently the place is closed on Mondays and they close the gates at 6pm...and they are VERY strict about this. We decided to go for another park as we were kicked out of the original plan...ugggg. well we found another close location and took it from there! Mosquitoes were EVERYWHERE! It was crazy and it was HOT and HUMID! I was leaving this session thinking that they will never want to do this again! It just seemed one thing after another kept going wrong! Thankfully they were super laid back and the kids totally felt that vibe and just went along for the ride.
Here are some pics from a fun, crazy session with a remarkably fun and beautiful family! I hope you guys had fun ;)

Local Family and Baby Photographer Plymouth, MI | The {J} Family
Three kids under 4 you never know what you will get! I was a little nervous as I couldn't find an assistant and with kiddos that young sometimes I need help wrangling them up. I was so impressed by how well behaved these kids were! We though the baby was going to be a mess this late and yet she was the starlet of the evening- saving all her smiles for the camera! The actually made me think I want another one...just not yet :)

Newborn & Baby Photographer Birmingham, MI | Baby {B} is 11 months!
I think that Michigan has two weather forecasts...hot and cold. Seriously, in the dead of winter all I crave is a hot day, but in the summer it is so humid that all I crave is some snow!
We battled the heat for Baby B's 11 month portraits. Mom wanted to get some outdoor photos before he started walking away...unfortunately this didn't mean he wouldn't crawl away! This little guys is ready to go! It won't be long until he is running!
