You can't win them all!
So the other day I was JUST saying how hard it is to take my daughter's photograph. Seriously, this is not an exaggeration- she will purposely look away from the camera and immediately stop laughing or smiling when the camera comes out! I decided for her 2 year portraits I would guarantee smiles by taking her to her favorite place- I got my mom to come with me and pack up all my gear. We started the day off with a MAJOR meltdown!! I guess she did not want to be a fairy in the garden of trees. After that we went on the merry-go-round and even a train ride! I could not believe how many tricks I used to get this girl to smile! It was CRAZY! We were there about 5 hours and I cannot believe how many photo opportunities were around us and passed us by! I did my best and got alot of beautiful somber faces and a handful of smiles! I am wondering if after the baby comes and I am taking tons of photos of her she will come around and all of a sudden become my little model?

Lauren's session
What a fun afternoon I got to spend with Lauren and her family! Lauren just turned 1 and is almost exactly 1 year younger than my daughter! It's amazing how much they change in such a short time. Lauren was such a cutie and her pink polk-a-dot dress was adorable. We played dare with the weather and I think we actually won! As soon as we left the spot the storm clouds came rolling! Going to Emma-J's
So my daughter is OBSESSED with her Aunt and Uncle. If you ever ask her what she wants to do on any given day at any given time she will without a doubt respond "Emma-Js" and not her head. today was not like any other day. I opened the front door to get some natural light into my house to try to test out my lens and A went running out the door. She was just in her diaper and tee shirt and started to walk down the sidewalk saying "bye- See ya!" and we would ask "Where do you think you are going?" She would turn and respond, as if we should have known, "Emma-Js" and proceeded to wave and continue on her merry way. It was the cutest thing and I could not stop laughing! Ry took a little video and I already had my camera out :) I have to show her off! I just love her- she's so photogenic even with just a dipe and a runny nose!

Kathy's Maternity Session
What a cool shoot I did yesterday! A bride of one of the first weddings I assisted at called us and asked for a maternity session. It was really cool, because I was at her husband's wedding! Another really crazy thing was that I am also 9 month pregnant. I wish someone was there to take photos of pregnant me taking pictures of pregnant Kathy! I am looking forward for the newborn session! Here are a few of my favorites from yesterday:

A day in the life...
The other day I watched my girlfriend's 2 year old. This little girl is so special to me as her mom and I were prenant together, took pregancy classes together and gave birth hours apart! I love getting the two girls together- they are both so different and yet so similar! I thought my hand would be full with 2 2-year-olds in my wake, but my sister popped over and it was just the extra hand I needed to grab my camera and do some priceless pics of the two!

A wedding at the Castle
SO, I have lived in Michigan since '99 and I have lived about 40 minutes from a really cool venue I have never even heard of! Two Saturdays ago I was lucky enough to assit Marc Williams at a wedding at King's Court Castle out in Lake Orion. This place was unique and the perfect setting for this unique couple! I loved them, because they were electrical engineers like me :)
Here are a few of my favs!
The hall
Yup- the entire bridal party wore "chucks!"
this was such a funny event- What a good sport grandma was!
This couple seriously just oozed love!!!

Aidan's Newborn Session
I am so bless to have a beautiful new nephew! He is absolutely the most gorgeous baby boy I have seen! I LOVE his wrinkles and his big blue eyes! I wish I could post all of the photos, but I just chose a few to share! Not only is their baby beautiful, but the whole family is is- including their beloved pup! I cannot believe my sister-in-law had a baby 2 weeks ago! So jealous!
This is STRAIGHT OUT OF THE CAMERA for all you photags out there!
I just love how you can see daddy looking in the hallway at his family!
Ohhh how the tables have turned for the first "baby!"
My favorite!
Daddy and son
Can you possibly HAVE a more beautiful family?!
